Dearest Kenny our lives have been enriched with the special years spent with you. The stories, the coffees, the rubbish we talked and the jokes and memories we shared. I couldn´t have asked for a better big brother, except on all those trips to Auckland Hospital where your road rage ( even though you weren´t driving) caused us to have harsh words which were forgotten by the time we got home. We will all miss you so much rest peacefully.

Firstborn of Lyndsay and Myrtle Waters, older brother of Geoff Waters (all long shuffled off this mortal coil). Ken´s human adventure began in Devonport where he first picked up a hammer as a small child and never put it down. A child of infinite curiosity and creativity with a passion for making beautiful things with his hands. He was the one with the bluest eyes, blondest hair and the naughtiest streak. Attributes that endured until the end of his life. Teller of tall tales, bawdy jokes, devoted dog parent, possum hunter, duck shooter and amateur taxidermist. Ken terrified many of his family members when they stumbled across an unexpected, partially stuffed and mounted critter in his mother´s deep freeze. He lived and died exactly as he chose. Never losing his curiosity about the world, nor did he ever forget the power of imagination and dreaming. These are the things we will remember about our brother, uncle, great uncle and friend.

Forever dreaming!

Rest easy grandpa Kenny

Will never forget the memories we shared, the laughs and the tears and all the things you taught me growing up, The good and The bad. You were truly a hard old bugger and you fought that cancer to the very end. You will never be forgotten- Fly high

Dad, you have left me with an abundance of memories to cherish forever, not only with our family and extended family but also when it was just me and you, doing things together like going to martial arts training and events or hunting or hammering nails or you teaching me about the world. More recently, it was something as simple as sitting at the park on a beautiful sunny day with our takeaways, listening to your favourite music on my phone while reminiscing about good times, me watching as your eyes filled with happy tears and knowing you lived a full life. It is because of you I know the importance of family, love, respect, loyalty, hard work and to never fear standing up to speak my truth. You will be fondly remembered for your intelligence, wit, sense of humour, love of literature, artistic creativity and being the life of the party. Your mastery lives on in many structures, buildings and homes around NZ and abroad. I watched you bravely endure the pain and suffering that cancer brings. Thankfully, when you took your last breath, you drifted away ever so peacefully, finally at rest. Your journey in this life now over but your spirit remains inside of me. Soar like an eagle, Dad. Love you forever and always, your baby girl xxx

Privilege knowing you Ken, living with us for that time, listening to your yarns, enjoying your sense of humour, watching your brave fight against the horrible disease that finally took you. So glad to have that last visit with you and the laugh we shared. RIP Ken, May the angels surround you as you go on your journey and you find rest and peace and continue to laugh.
