Kenneth Kirkpatrick Obituary

KIRKPATRICK, Kenneth James. A death occurred recently in Wellington of a former Gore resident, Kenneth James Kirkpatrick, latterly working in the Prime Minister's Department, Wellington as a Policy Advisor - formerly of Massey University and NZ Dairy Board. 12 August, 1940 - 23 September, 2010. Aged 70 years. Ken passed away at Cashmere Resthome. Ken was the loved son of the late Hugh and Freda Kirkpatrick, and younger brother of Brian. Nephew of the late Lloyd and Joyce Raines, Invercargill; cousin of Beverley (Invercargill), Russell (Invercargill), Barbara (Dunedin), Hilary (Israel) and Bill Winefield (Perth). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society, 52 Riddiford St, Newtown would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Special thanks to all medical and surgical personnel who have cared for Ken and to Sir Peter Gluckman for recognising that Ken was in need of medical intervention. A service to remember and farewell Ken will be held at Old St Paul's, 34 Mulgrave St, Thorndon, Wellington on Wednesday 29 September 2010 at 1pm, followed by a service at the Southland Crematorium, Invercargill for friends and family in the south.
