Kenneth HYDE Obituary

Ken was such a great colleague and the often the first person to welcome new colleagues to the department. He was so kind to others and everyone will remember how he made them feel positively after a conversation. Will miss you. Condolences to the family.

I was honoured and delighted many years ago when Ken asked me to supervise his PhD. It was a real pleasure working with him. Doing a PhD part-time is never easy but with his organisation, commitment, and excellent scholarship he got a great result. Ken was ever the gentleman and it was delight to meet him again at a conference just a couple of years ago with a group of your his students, who obviously respected and valued him as an advisor in every way. So very sad to hear of Ken's passing, we were good mates back in the school years and I remember many visits to the Hyde's house in Alamein St Riverton.
