Kenneth DUREY Obituary

DUREY, Kenneth Walter. Born 15 February 1949. Ken passed away on Monday morning 28 April 2025 age 76. The loved Son of the late Walter Allen Durey and Thelma Grace Durey. Loved Brother of Val, Bob, Barbara, Glennis and Wendy. Cherished partner of Verena, Louise and Lynn. Beloved Father of Jason, Brendon, Shannon, and Mollie Durey. Adored Grandfather of Makenzie, Sebastian, Byron, and Charlie. He will be sorely missed and leave a massive hole in our hearts and lives. Be at peace. Dad, we love you.

I first met Ken in the late 60's where we both served our apprenticeships and enjoyed some diving trips and trips to Great Barrier island. I found Ken to be one of the most special people and he could turn his hand to anything. I appreciated his visits and phone calls to us in Paihia in recent years especially since his diagnosis. Rest in peace Ken and condolences to all his family. Bob

Thank you, Ken, for the brief occasions we met after Lyall Babington bought the good yacht Mollie from you. I really enjoyed those times and what a marvellous vessel you built which is currently situated in the Mediterarrian Sea.

DUREY, Kenneth Walter. Our cherished brother and uncle passed away on April 28th. So sadly missed. Loved and admired brother of Valerie, Barbara, Glenis. Bob, and Wendy. Uncle of Maree, Joanna, Leonie, Steven, Tresna, Tracy, Nicola, Justin, Hannah, Tara, and Angela. Off on his next adventure. Gathering for Ken will be held at Schnapper Rock Chapel, Saturday 10th May at 2.30pm.
