Kia ora Douglas family, I knew Ken first as a student and then as a friend and film-maker. He was such an interesting man, with a great intellect, keen perception, strong commitment and a good heart. It was my privilege to work on a documentary about his life and travel with him to Mongolia during filming. He made a real contribution to New Zealand life - a totara in our forest. Kia Kaha.

Ken, really sad to hear you had passed but greatful to have known you.
A man who led by example in regards to work ethic was very respected by his peers and community as a whole, who instilled the value of whanau in his children and grandchildren.
Your great grandchildren referd to you as big grandad and I loved that they all were able to form some bond with you one way or another so thank you Ken thank you for making time for us all and rest in peace
