The educational community of Trenton has once again lost a valued member way too soon. Jan Brown, Sue Begley, Cathy Weston, Richard Bryant, Howard Rushlow, Doyle McIntosh, Jim Whiteside, Jack Castignola are among those soon welcoming her home with open arms.
I had the privilege of being a colleague at Taylor Elementary School with her for several years. She showed great interest in making sure my special education students had the best media center experiences imaginable.
We shared an experience that probably wasn't duplicated with anyone else during her career--I rear ended her one day on Fort Street after school!!
Rest in peace, Kelly, and comfort be found for both families.

I was lucky to run into Kelly a while back and have a nice conversation and a laugh while she was out ill. You were always sweet and patient, and your family as well as your 'work' family of staff and students will deeply miss you. Here is wishing your spirit peace, and your family strength in the glow of your memory. I feel blessed to have known you, and am deeply saddened by your passing.

I extend my sympathy to the Jankowski and Lhiva families. Kelly always had a positive and caring attitude in a position at Taylor Elementary that required a lot of transitioning throughout the day and week. She loved the Munchies, her career and her family. I'll never forget her big smile and one of a kind laugh. She and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless You.

Eddie... I cannot begin to express how heart broken I am to hear about Kelly. She was a tough little lady. I don't doubt that she has found peace. Hopefully she found my dad up there and she is keeping him in line. Much love to you and the Lhiva Family - Kelly Patton

I worked with Kelly at Taylor Elementary School for a few years and was always in awe of how well she worked with the students, she was a great librarian, a great teacher, a great friend. She will be missed. She wrote me a great referral letter when I moved to the Ga. school system. Ed, I am so sorry.

Kelly, I lost a wonderful colleague today. You always had a beautiful smile on your face and were so eager to learn everything about Middle School. You fought such a hard disease of Lupus. God Bless you! You loved teaching and being part of our team. I admired your fight to always come back to school. I am proud to have known you. I will miss you forever. I hope you are now in a peaceful place and pain free. I love you and will miss you.

I remember when Kelly would sub for me at Good Shepherd School in Lincoln Park. After working with her at CGS, we were hired in the same year in Trenton. I will always remember Kelly and her kindness to everyone she met. I will also remember all the chats before, during and after school. She loved her profession and she always did what was best for the children. The world is a better place today because Kelly touched the lives of many people.
