Keith Dwayne Kirchen of Harrison, MI passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at the age of 89. He was born on May 2, 1936, in Grand Ledge, MI, to Walter and Flossie (Sanders) Kirchen.
Keith was a machine shop welder, would build trailers from scratch, and also worked as a logger, which went along with the woodworking hobby he was fond of.
Beyond his professional life, Keith looked forward to attending church every week at the New Life Assembly of God in Grand Ledge.
An avid outdoorsman, he found solace in the tranquility of nature, whether he was casting a line into a still lake at dawn or tracking wildlife through the serene Michigan woods. But it was not just the solitude of fishing and hunting that brought Keith joy; he also enjoyed playing the piano and just taught himself how to play the banjo.
He is survived by his children, Keith Kirchen Jr. and Rhonda Butler, several grandchildren, twin brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Ann Kirchen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Flossie Kirchen, and his 13 siblings, with whom he now joins in eternal peace.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Keith to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For online condolences please visit www.millsfuneral.com
