Kia Ora kotou
Aroha to you all at this difficult time. Your mum loved you all so much. She was so proud of you and every phone call or visit I would hear all of your news. Kay was an absolute inspiration - I knew her through AUT and then through sailing with the Buttles. Kay and Janine would be on the Jib winches, swearing at Andrew on the helm as we tacked again and the girls would have to grind the job winches and bring the sail in. The woman at the breast mammogram clinic was shocked at the size of Kay´s pec muscles and showed Kay the X-ray. Kay told the nurse that the well developed muscles were the result of that that bloody sailing and the grinding of the winches when we tacked .
Kay was an avid traveler and her travels inspiring me onwards.
Although Kay is at peace now, she lives on in my heart and memories. I will visit her as I told her at Bailey´s beach- I cannot be with you for her service, but I will watch the link from Brussels, Belgium.
Thank you for letting me know.
Again, love to you all. Kia kaha
