Kathryn EVANS Obituary

EVANS, Kathryn (Kath). Passed away on 6th August 2018, after a long battle, surrounded by her loving family, at Dove House. Dearly loved Mum of Dale and Andrea and cherished Nana of Jack. Former wife and dear friend of Dave. Beloved member of the extended King family. A celebration of Kath's life will be held at the Howick Funeral Home Chapel, 35 Wellington Street, Howick, Auckland, on Saturday 11th August 2018, at 11-00am. Private Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to Dove House, 207A Riddell Road, Glendowie, Auckland, would be very much appreciated. 35 Wellington Street, Howick Ph 534 7300

My name is Barbara and it saddens me deeply to write this message. When Kath emigrated from Glosop to NZ we always kept in touch. She always visited me when over in the UK. Kath was a chidhood friend and we enjoyed our teenage years in the '60's with our friend June. The three of us would go dancing together and had so much fun. But of late her emails got less, although she asked and said we must email more - bless her.In
2017 I received a Christmas card with a letter enclosed.(what was un-be-known to me to be her last.) I knew she was still battling on and was 'doing her best'. I wrote to her, sent cards, e-mailed but got no reply. I have tried desparately hard to find out how she was with no avail; then I contacted June who hadn't been in touch since kath left nonetheless thought of her often with affection. It was June who found Kath's obit for which I am thankful, so sad but drawn my search to closure. If Kath's family Dale and Andrea who Kath often spoke of would care to contact me I would be grateful. email address babs_myatt

Condolences go to all her family from all our family & children who she knew and of our friend June. Kath asked if I was wearing a 'The hat' for our sons wedding in Australia, April 2019? Yes Kath I am!!
I am truly blessed to have known this beautiful lovely lady and look back and smile at our friendship and good times we shared. We will never forget her.

It was very sad to learn that Kath had passed away after she seemed to be recovering from her latest round of treatments. Kath was always welcome at the Dannemora Gardens yoga class and we all enjoyed her company. She seemed to appreciate the sessions and hopefully gained some peace and relaxation from them. We will all miss her. Fly free, Kath.

May you be in peace now after your long cancer battle Kath. Thank you for the social times out dancing and lunch together of the times we did manage to get together in past few years.
