Dear Grandma
Some of my fondest memories are feeding the ducks at Rose Park, Visiting the 'Little Bull' at the Botanic gardens, throwing out the crusts to the sparrows on the lawn and eating those yummy green grapes from your back garden at Carlson Crescent.

Not to mention playing dress up's in your clothes that smelt like mothballs, watching the horse races on the telly and picking winners from the paper, the smell of rose talcum powder in the bathroom and the barbie doll toilet roll covers...Then there was the things we weren't allowed to touch like the teaspoon and bell collection....oh how my fingers ached to ring those sweet little ornaments that were safely sitting behind glass!

You were such a clever woman too, I'd love going along to or seeing what you'd make in crafts and hobbies each week. From teaching me to cross stitch and knit or maybe we'd bake Rock cakes while listening to the record player belt out the tunes 'Two little boys' or 'Does your chewing gum lose flavor' over and over again.
I Love the fact that you would write to me and all the other grand& great grandchildren, then you started adding photo's, I could see the family grow. I've kept nearly every letter you've ever written while I've been out of the country and is something I will be sure to do with my own grandchildren.

The last time we saw each other was only a month ago, there you were, perched on the porch, ready to hurl the usual 'Are you married?' at me, you got rather cheeky in the last few years, I'd say you're up there giving them what for!
I'm delighted to have spent that time with you grandma, thanks for the most wonderful memories a granddaughter could ever have. I love you, Sara
