Katherine GIBSON Obituary

GIBSON, Katherine Joy (Joy). Born 17 February 1939, passed away peacefully in her room at the Pupuke Unit of the William Sanders Village on Monday, 5 January 2026 surrounded by family. Joy was the much loved and cherished wife of Tom of 63 years. She was the much loved mother of Bridget, James and Jacinta and grandmother to Lily and MIchael; sister to Joan Weizmann (deceased) and Gerard Clifford. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother, treasured by all who knew her, for her interest in other people, her kindness, warmth and quiet strength. The family wishes to express their heart-felt thanks to the staff at the Pupuke Unit of the William Sanders Retirement Village who treated her with respect, kindness and compassion over the last 3 and a half years. Requiem Mass will be held at St Joseph's Church, Takapuna. (Entrance 10 Dominion Street) on Friday, 9 January 2026 at 11am. A private cremation ceremony will be held later in the afternoon at Purewa.
