John Mucy Obituary

John Mucy, 83, of Charleroi, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2002, in his residence. Born in Monessen July 20, 1918, he was a son of the late Michael and Zelfa Nahas Mucy. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, in the blooming mill division. Mr. Mucy was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Charleroi. A U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, Mr. Mucy was a member of the Mon Valley Leathernecks and the Charleroi VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Simon and Harry Mucy. Surviving are his wife, Gazella Levkulich Mucy; a son, John C. Mucy and his wife, Debra, of Charleroi; a daughter, Mrs. Barry (Melanie) Testa of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Renae and Kim Mucy and Barry John Testa; three sisters, Hazel Burkhardt and Margaret Mucy, both of Monessen, and Freida Demidio of Donora; two brothers, Gabe Mucy of California, Pa., and Dan Mucy of Eldora; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.
