Karel PIHERA Obituary

PIHERA, Karel (Charles). 04 April 1930 - 28 May 2020 In Rotorua. Beloved husband of the late Lynn. Much loved father and father- in-law of Peter and Robyn, Karel and Hai Qing, Tony and Philippa, Katerina and Marcus. Cherished grandfather and great grandfather of his 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Charles will be resting at home until the funeral service which will be held at Osbornes Funeral Directors on Monday 1st June. Due to current restrictions attendance is limited. Requiescat In Pace

My first boss in 1968 at Tudor Towers and BBQ, Started my career as a Chef under this talented wonderful man. He and Lynn inspired so much of my life and my gratitude will always be with me.

A good friend and workmate during the Barbeque and Tudor Tower restaurant days in the 1960/1970's. He gave freely to Bev & I for our wedding reception at the Tudor Towers mezzanine floor restaurant (long now removed) in 1967, and was a gentleman to work for and with. Thank you Charles. You were a very good man and a very pleasant friend. Rest in Peace.
