Karaka RAPATA Obituary

RAPATA, Karaka (Clark Roberts) QSO. On Wednesday 25 July 2018 peacefully at home with all his whānau. Beloved husband and soul mate of Marie for 60 years. He is loved beyond forever and missed beyond measure by his girls, Aroha Meikle, Marama Pohatu and Mereana Rapata - Hanning. Respected father in law of Cyril, Kevin, Matthew and Mark. Loved and adored Pāpā of Whitney and Mat, Awhina, Waimirirangi and David, Te Mutunga and Piata and Great Pāpā of baby Clarke. Karaka returned to his papakainga of Te Hapua on Friday 27 July and was buried there at Mareitu Urupa. The bloom of our Rata has fallen It's leaves dry, It's trunk withered It's source drained through it's roots To the bowels of Mother Earth from whence it came. The sheltered branches, lofty mountains and Great Forest of Tane are levelled. Farewell our Rangatira. Tread the wide path of Tane that lies before you, preceded by aristocrats, Rangatira and servants alike. Those who have been preordained beyond the veil of death since the beginning of time. Takoto mai na i runga i ngā marae tapu o nga reo ngaro. Hoki a wairua atu e te rangatira ma i roto atu i ngā wai kaukau o te moana o Pārengarenga me te urupa o Māreitu, te moenga roa o ngā mātua tūpuna. Gillions Funeral Services Ltd FDANZ NZIFH
