Kara was a long time friend of both my parents Mavis and Peter May. She was also my godmother and I´m proud to have known her. I heard many stories of her early years in Canada from my mother Mavis who missed her dearly when she moved to NZ such a long time ago, and from my father Peter who shared her love of music. Always known to me as Kitty, she would keep in touch over the miles and years with news and good wishes for her life-long friend Mavis. What a wonderful influence her kind and adventurous nature has been, she leaves the world a better place.

Be sure that our dear Kit Kara BangBang Nelson will be remembered fondly by all he knew her including her many friends in Waiheke Island. She was a wonderful person and tried so hard to make the world a better place for all around her. She also gave us such pleasure through her musical abilities and many other attributes she processed. We will remember her! If you want to find out more about her life she has left many memories in the form of her book " And the Piano came too" and the two CD´s she stared in
along side her good friend Maynie Thomson. "Tea Scones and Nuclear Disarmament " and "Hip-hoperation"
