June SAYERS Obituary

SAYERS, June Mary Beatrice (nee Syms). The time has come for us to wish our family's beautiful matriarch farewell. On Thursday 31 March 2022, aged 90, our precious darling passed away graciously at home beside the sea, with her children lovingly at her side - just as she wanted. Utterly adored wife of the late Alan Sayers, mother of Greg and Christina, grandmother ('Baba') of Amalia and Reuben, second grandmother to Bella and Sam, mother-in-law figure to Jonathan (Jon), friend to Lorry, aunty to Anthony (AJ), Ashleigh and Susan and loved member of the wider Sayers and Wickstead families. Reunited now with her darling sisters Beverley and Valerie, and all her very special friends. Remembered always for her beauty, humour and, above all, her extraordinary gift of making everyone feel so deeply loved. A life beautifully lived. Family and friends are welcome to a service for June will be held at the All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Thursday 7 April at 12noon.

On behalf of the McGrevys, I want to pay tribute to June's beauty, beautiful caring spirit and her unfailing hospitality. Traude, in particular, has fond memories of June's lovingkindness when she was in NZ alone with her daughter Silvia after Lindsay went missing. She sends her heartfelt condolences from Austria and her prayers that June's loved ones will be comforted with the dear memories they, too, will have of this gracious and generous woman.

This message is sent on behalf of our dear Mother Neon Tovey who was a close friend of June Sayers during their time at school Diocesan and the fun times shared at Piha with Graeme, Beverley and Valerie. My Mother was a life long friend of June until her passing in July 2000.
I knew and loved Aunty June and always made a point of seeing her on my visits to Auckland. I remember happy times shared with Uncle Alan both in Epsom and Arkles Bay.
June was a stunning lady with charm and love for her family.
Best wishes and condolences to Greg, Christina and family.
Aunty June. Love forever and always. Say Hello to our Mum, Beverley and Valarie for us.
