Julie, I remember so fondly my time working with you at Mercy Hospice. You taught me what great hospitality looks like. You were always so kind and generous and a great laugh! What a privilege to have worked with you for 5 years. You were a remarkable woman.
Sending lots of love to you Roger, Jess, Ben and family.

To Roger and Whanau
In loving memory of a beautiful soul.
Another star now twinkles above,
Look up and see the one you love
For they are there with others too.
Shining down to comfort you.

There's a garden
filled with memories that blossom ever bright,
A place of sweet rememberings and lovely flowers of light...
A place that offers comfort when the ones we love depart, A place of gentle promise called the garden of the heart.
Julie, can only be physically gone but never the life lived and the memories shared.
...to her family...
...you have faith and are strong.
Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss, may her soul rest in peace.

I have the fondest memories of Julie from my childhood. She always greeted you with a big hug and a kiss, leaving bright red lipstick on your cheeks. There were countless sleepovers at her Lake Road house and many happy summer holidays in Waipu. Christmas Day at Julie´s was always a highlight, and it was obvious how many lives she touched, her home was always full of people. Julie was kind and generous, with an open-door policy for anyone who needed it. She made everyone feel welcome, loved, and at home. RIP Julie and lots of love to Roger, Ben and Jess

Growing up, some of my fondest memories were spent at your house on Lake Road. You had an unwavering love for us kids - always the biggest hugs, the warmest kisses (often leaving our cheeks with red lipstick we would hurry to rub off), and a way of making everyone feel completely at home.
I´ll never forget the special times at Waipu, just a stone´s throw from the best beach, getting dumped again and again by the huge surf and being able to laugh about it after. Those days are etched in my heart.
The many Christmases you hosted say so much about who you were - your generosity, your care, and the love you gave so freely to everyone around you.
I´m so sorry I won´t be there on Thursday. Sending all my love to the family.
Love you Julie. Rest in peace

It was with much sadness that I heard about Julie´s passing.
Like many others, I had the privilege to have Julie as a colleague for many years and will never forget how vibrant and passionate she was. Julie was an amazing woman who has now left a legacy of love and dedication. Her compassionate devotion to both whanau and patients had no limits. Julie simply "made things happen" instantly and nothing was ever too big for her.
We have lost another beautiful "Mercy Woman".
My thoughts are with Julie´s family.
Rest in peace, Julie.

You walked into the admin office of Mercy Hospice in 1996, Teina and I were waiting for you, and did you arrive ! wearing a vibrant multi coloured dress, bright red lippy and a huge smile !..our new volunteer co-ordinator. Before long you had recruited and trained many new volunteers this trend continued for years. Your compassion for Mercy's patients and families never went unnoticed.
You became part of the 'Tight 5' along with Teina, Angie, Rachael and myself and gosh did we all have Enormous fun !...I will leave this here...
You will be missed Julie by so many, but, I know you now have your angel wings and soon will meet up with Teina this brings comfort.
Blessings of peace to Roger, Jess, Ben & families

I became a volunteer at Mercy Hospice in 2018 and six months later took over Julie´s role when she announced that she was moving to Harbour Hospice. I was in awe of her from the moment we met. She made every volunteer feel special, and despite being told constantly what big shoes I had to fill, Julie was incredibly encouraging and mentored me with great warmth and enthusiasm. Always with her bright lipstick, she had a smile for everyone. She was adored by the staff, the volunteers and patients alike.
My deepest sympathies go to her much loved and faithful Roger, her children, grandchildren and family.

RIP lovely Julie - when you first became Volunteer Co-ordinator you met the original volunteer group who had started a year or so earlier @ St Joseph's/Mary Agnes Ward & in such a short time you trippled our numbers, formed close friendships with us all, & never allowed us to say "No"!!! Julie you were such fun & so compassionate & your work here on earth was inspirational. I am so grateful to have known you in my life - RIP beautiful woman.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Julie's death. I worked with Julie for years while she was our amazing volunteer coordinator. We were named "the tight 5" while working in different roles at Mercy Hospice: Julie, Teina, Rachael, Lesley & myself & we had many laughs & lots of fun over the years. Fly high Julie, you're now with Teina. We'll meet again one day. Rest in peace my friend. Much aroha to your whanau

Julie went all out to help me when I was mother of the bride, when I was a Hospice nurse but was a patient in Ward 64. She organised hair, makeup, eyelash extensions, nails, accessories that staff lent me. All so I could get to the wedding via ambulance. I will never forget her kindness and how she could just make things happen. Go well "sister" on your next journey
