I met Judith at my father“s funeral earlier this year. They had gone to Elam Art School together, and through her I met a true New Zealand artist and a true friend. We spent a short but precious time together visiting galleries and talking about art. Her work, my work, her passion, her excitement encouraging me to make art. Time with Judith was filled with joy, curiosity and generosity of spirit. I miss her deeply and wish I had known her earlier in her life. She was a rare and kind friend, to both my father and me. I am so grateful for the moments we shared.

Judith was the eldest grandchild in Lily and Snows Hinton's family. My mother Hazel became a proud Aunty at the age of about 14. Such a talented person. As we live in Hamilton I had very little contact with Judith, until these last few years when we had some very enjoyable phone conversations and computer contact. On one occasion Judith asked if I would got to a venue in Hamilton to see how well her paintings had been displayed as she was unable to see for herself. I did and sent her some photos of the display. Sincere sympathy to each one of you. Love from Margaret and Fred Jones.

Judith and I were the oldest and the youngest grandchildren of the Hinton family. My Dad, Reg always spoke fondly of Judith his niece that was only ten years younger than him. Deepest Sympathy to you all. A life well led and a lady who bought so much pleasure to so many.
