Judith A. "Judy" Charlton, 63, of Cranberry, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at her residence. She was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Du Bois, the daughter of Dorothy Spears Torretti Smith and stepdaughter of Norman Smith, of Reynoldsville. Her father, Querino Torretti, was killed in action in World War II, and she also was predeceased by her husband, James T. Charlton, whom she married Jan. 28, 1961, and who died Nov. 15, 1997. Mrs. Charlton graduated from Reynoldsville High School in 1960, received her teaching degree from Slippery Rock University and was the owner of Mars Beer Distributor. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mars; the Collie Clubs of America and Western Pennsylvania, and the Butler Dog Training Association. Also surviving are son James Daniel Charlton and daughter Amy Charlton, of Cranberry; sister Cynthia McKinney, of Richmond, Va., and brothers Gary Smith, of Reynoldsville, and Michael Smith, of Richmond. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 until 8:30 p.m. services Wednesday at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. The Rev. Robert Rigg, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Reynoldsville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
American Cancer Society.
