Joy ORMSBY Obituary
ORMSBY, Joy (nee Kerr). Born October 13, 1929. Passed away peacefully on December 1st 2024 aged 95. Beloved wife of the late Norman Anthony Ormsby. Dearly beloved mum (and mum in law) of Cathy and Kevin Mckerrow, Phil Ormsby and Alex Ellis, Matthew and Sheryl Ormsby and Robert Ormsby and Anna Lowe. Much loved grandmother to Michael, Anthony, Thomas, Alexander, Karen, Stephen, Judd, Zane and Emma. Great grandmother of Ryan, Annabelle, Cooper and Harrison. A celebration of Joy's life will be at St Philip's Anglican Church, 92 Saint Heliers Bay Road, Auckland at 1 pm Monday 9th December 2024. Mum had a heart filled with love and kindness towards others with a zest for life and a wicked sense of humour. She was much loved by everyone who knew her. I worked with Joy for many years at Holland Beckett in Tauranga and we became great friends, we were last in contact for our birthdays in October. Joy was great fun and always keen to experience adventures even when they were far out of her comfort zone. I well remember when she walked the Milford Track and her tales of her encounters, especially the bridges. Sad news I will miss our telephone calls Joy.
