Dear Fr Joe (as he was in Taupo in his early years in the Priesthood) was such a breath of fresh air to all the families, catholic and non catholic alike. He played rugby, visited everyone he could, great with the children (no catholic school then) and was so happy in his vocation as Shepherd to his flock. We were shattered when he was moved after a too short a time!! He exuded Priestly qualities, helping and loving all in his path. He will continue his prayers for all those he knew as he claims his eternal reward!!!! Well done good and faithful servant. We will meet again!! RIP.

May Monsignor Joe Stack Rest In Peace. Condolences to Bishop Richard, Father Kennedy and Monsignor Leonard Danvers, and all his brother priests. We remember Mons Joe with fondness, he was a dedicated priest. I remember when he first came to Tauranga. He was a great friend.

Joe was a staunch fellow classmate, an uncompromising forward in our rugby team, a selfless dedicated priest, and he shared his love and infectious gleeful laugh with all whom he came into contact. Will miss him terribly, but take consolation that he has earned his final reward.
