I was a trainee barrister with Jonny in London in the early 1990's. He was full of fun and wonderful company and incredibly kind. He was always debonair and incredibly well turned out.We lost touch but years later he popped into my office to say hello. It made my day. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I have only just heard this very sad news.

Cher Jonathan,

Cooperman - you could charm the birds from the trees.I have known you for a long time & was so pleased when part of my childhood landed in Auckland a few years ago. So so sad that you are no longer here - beyond belief.

I met Jonathan when I first moved to Geneva in 2001. He was introduced to me by a mutual friend during my first week there and I couldn't have had a more enthusiastic, fun and cheeky companion for exploring the Geneva nightlife. Both he and Taryn were very kind in introducing me to their many friends and we had many fine times together. He will be sadly missed. Ciro

I'd only just got back in touch with Jonathan. He cheered me up again as he did, every day, when we were in Geneva together. He always made me laugh and I'm only sorry I never got to see him again. Condolences to his family.

From all at Eastbourne Rugby Club.
Jon was a great player, character, raconteur and friend who will be deeply missed. It was a pleasure to have stepped out on the same pitch as him and to have called him a friend.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Jonathan's untimely death. He was a great friend in my Geveva days and used to bring fun and a boisterous spirit to every occasion. He was loved by all he met and was always leading the pack whether it was to watch the rugby or instigate an impromptu pub crawl. He was also a wise and kind friend. May he rest in peace.
