MATHIS, Johnny. Peacefully on the 29th of May 2024 at home; Aged 92 years. Dearly loved husband for 69 years of Audrey. Much loved Dad and Father-in-law of Anne and Graeme, Elsa and Paul, Janice and Murray, Lynda and Grant, Judy, Patrick and Karen, Sue and Richard, Gerald and Kielee. Loved Poppa Johnny" to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Rest in Peace" A Requiem Mass for Johnny will be celebrated at the St Patrick's Catholic Church, Tirau Street, Putāruru on Saturday, the 1st of June at 1:00 PM followed by the interment at the Te Waotu Cemetery; Te Hotu Urupa. I just heard him in concert last night on the public broadcasting station then ordered his music afterwards. I always listen to his Christmas songs, His personality as well as his music brings peace in a troubled world. I shall not stop listening and have been since my childhood. I was- shocked to have come across the notice of his passing- Rest In Peace- it is well deserved...we all know now where to find you!- In heaven singing with the angels!!!

Condolences to all Johnny's family! We knew Johnny & Audrey from indoor bowling at St Pat's hall in the mid '50s. They were always good humoured.
