WILLIAMSON, John. 17 October 1940 - 16 July 2025 Born in Dunedin, and passed away peacefully with his children by his side at Mercy Hospice, Auckland. Son of the late Laura and William. Much loved brother to Bill. Dearly loved husband to the late Mara. Adored father and father-in-law of Shane and Mel, Adele and Chris, and Greta and Jonathan. Proud grandfather of Phoebe, Charlie, James, and Ruby. Cherished uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. John was a pillar of strength and resilience. He faced life's challenges with courage and grace, showing his strength not in words, but in the way he lived, loved, and carried himself. He was deeply sentimental, and loved his family dearly with both of his hearts - the one he was born with and the one he was so generously given. Rest in peace now John, you will be greatly missed by us all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the anonymous donor family who gave John the gift of life through a heart transplant nearly 31 years ago. Your incredible generosity, made during your own time of sorrow, will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of the entire Williamson family. Thank you.
