So sad to see the passing of an old mate from the Onehunga and Manukau harbor.

So very sad to hear the passing of a wonderful man, he was so much a father figure to me for the last 60 plus years, totally heart broken words cannot describe the love we had for him, saw him 15 months ago , @ the rest home, he was a shell of the strong, caring ,giving man that he was, love him dearly, & our girls, & grandchildren will also know the wonderful human being he was. God we will miss him so much.Love you Uncle John, Ron& Colleen, Rebecca & Helen, & all your grandkids here in Australia, we will always hold a candle for you Uncle John

John married Dorothy,my mother. They spent many of their twilight years together in Cambridge. Sadly after years of building John became unsteady on his feet and began falling and hurting himself quite badly.He then lived in Resthaven until passing.A loving caring man whom mum adored. They have both passed now. R I P John.

WAKEFIELD, John. Passed away on 13th April 2025. In loving memory to a man who was a mentor in my life, the kind of man God put on this earth. Nothing was a problem. Sadly missed by Ron and Colleen Ryan, Rebecca, Helen, Adrian, Matty, and our 4 grandkids. 2 girls you never met, they would have loved you like we do. Rest in peace Uncle John, may your line be tight and catch that big one. Love you forever and ever.
