John THORNTON Obituary

THORNTON, John Alan. Born 19 January 1961 in Auckland. Passed away unexpectedly on 21 November 2024 in his 63rd year. Adoring husband of Julie for 43 years, Beloved son of Alan and Betty. Fantastic dad to Rachel and Gemma. Loving Grandfather of Griffin, Lilly, Flynn, Leo and Luna. A celebration of John's life will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100-102 St Johns Road, Meadowbank, on Wednesday, 27th November, at 12 noon. Instead of flowers, please bring your favourite Hot Wheels or similar American muscle car miniature. His family loves and misses him very much. Words can not sum up what an amazing man he was, and he will be remembered dearly by all those who loved him.

I had the privilege of working closely with John for over 10 years..He was an amazing person. He could bring light to a dark room & cared so much for those around him..my thoughts are with Julie & family at this difficult time xx

John was a true gentleman.... He was looking forward to starting the next chapter and spending more time with Julie and his family that he was so proud of.
