John David ONZM SUTHERLAND

John SUTHERLAND Obituary

SUTHERLAND, John David ONZM. Born 26th May 1933 in Swansea, Wales, passed away Sunday 26th June 2022 peacefully at Elizabeth Knox Home & Hospital, in Auckland. Loved husband of the late Pamela and father to Amanda, Julian and Belinda. Treasured father-in-law to Peter, Ruth, John and beloved Grandit to Briar, Eva, Isabella and Tabitha. Brother to Peter Sutherland, brother-in-law to Ann and Kristine. Leader and contributor to the architecture and construction professions. He gave it his all to the very end. His funeral will be held on Tuesday 5th July, 2.00pm at All Saints, Purewa, 100 St Johns Rd, Meadowbank, followed by burial and afternoon tea. No flowers, however, donations are welcome to Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital (a registered charitable trust). For further information please contact Chris at The Natural Funeral Co Ph 021 234 5650

A good friend of my fathers. A nice guy. My father.... M.O.W. Auckland branch 1960 something till it was sold off. A building my father designed, Army building Arch Hill.

I spoke with John several times some time back, I a very ordinary bloke in comparison but he had all the time in the world for me and my thoughts. Every so often we get a true champion come along - he was a true Champion. RIP John and kind thoughts to your family who will be missing you so much.
