John SHEEHY Obituary

SHEEHY, John (Jack). On 21 January 2019 at Little Sisters Of The Poor, Herne Bay with family at his bedside. Aged 95 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Betty. Much loved father and father in law of Maureen and Bob, Gerald and Tricia, Claire and Graeme, John (deceased), Michael and Jo. Loved grandad of 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Joseph Catholic Church, Taharoto Rd (entrance 10 Dominion Street) Takapuna on Friday 25 January at 11.00am thereafter to the North Shore Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at the Little Sisters Chapel, Tweed Street, Herne Bay, Thursday afternoon at 4.30pm.

They say the Iris links Heaven and Earth.
There were few things Jack wanted in life, but he loved the Irises growing in our garden.. So we gave him our Iris & bird-bath. When the first bloom emerged, he came over to our house to present it to me. A week later, that first bloom sprouted new life. I went over to his house to give it to him. For weeks, he'd been away in his bach at Leigh. Synchronously, that one morning, he returned to Bayswater to receive 'my' budlet.
Rare individuals like Jack remind us of the 'magic', of all that is good in Life.
