Genuinely saddened to learn of Mr. Salthouse's passing.
Will be eternally grateful to this amazing gentleman for giving me the opportunity at a boatbuilding career when granted me an apprenticeship with Salthouse Brothers Boatbuilders out at Greenhithe during the 1970's - Peace be with you!

So sorry to read of John's passing in Waitemata Woody's tonight. John was a true gentleman who I had immense respect for. I will always be grateful for the opportunity he gave me to work on the trawler and for the thoroughly enjoyable years I spent working at Salthouses. Rest in peace, John.
