Dear Rosemary, I would like to express my deepest sympathy on the passing of John. My family and I lived in Rotorua for a year in 1998. I worked with John at FRI (Scion). He allowed me to visit timber industries thanks to his many contacts. We were also invited to your property in Coromandel, where my son found a beautiful piece of amber in the ground. I remember John as a particularly kind person, very devoted to his family and always ready to help. Since returning to Belgium, I have had little contact with John, except a few years ago when we spoke about a landslide near your home. John will always remain in my memory.

To the Roper family. It was with sadness that I read of John's passing. I worked with him at Pacific Pine Industries in Putaruru. John loved Rosemary and adored his children. Just wanted to say with sympathy and understanding.

Will miss you John, my little cousin. Enjoyed our chats when I came to visit, your sense of humour was still there.
Free from pain now. Much love to the family and I'll see you Thursday.

Our thoughts are with you Rosemary, Chris, Jeff and Tamsin. We always enjoyed John´s cheeriness and chat. We have great shared memories of Okareka when the kids were growing up, Waikawau updates and Grandparent Day catch-ups at Pillans. A big man with a big heart.Alan and Lynn Barnes
