John PERRY Obituary
PERRY, John Lawrence. Passed away peacefully on August 22, 2016 at Summerset in the Sun Rest Home, Stoke, Nelson, in his 84th year. Cherished husband of Elizabeth for 62 years; much loved father and father-in-law of Ian and Sue Perry (Wellington), Yvonne and Allan Lash (Wakefield), Beverley and Bruce Genever (Dunedin), and Jennifer Perry (Christchurch); treasured grandpa of Sarah and Stuart, Liam and Heidi, Rhys and Eliza, Keegan, Danny and Elizabeth, Bonnie and Benn; and great grandpa of Caitlyn, Brea, Jake, Jordan, Daniel and Henry. Thank you to the staff at Summerset for their compassionate care of John over the last four months. A stoic battler until the end. At Peace. A private cremation has been held. Dear Elizabeth,
I was saddened to learn of John's death, from Sue, of the walking group he introduced me too all those years ago.
How we enjoyed your neighbourliness and company. John's good humour and wealth of stories delighted both Kevin and me. Thank you for these lovely memories.
You will have found it sad and difficult watching his declining health so please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
