John GOULD Obituary

GOULD, John Tucker. John died peacefully on 4 August 2025 in his sleep at Mary Doyle Retirement Village, Havelock North, aged 91 years, after a life devoted to family and service to the community. Eldest son of the late Max and Beryl Gould. Brother to Joanne, Helen, Christine, Michael and Lincoln. Loved and loving husband of Eunice and fondly remembered by Ellen. Loved and respected by his daughters, stepchildren, their husbands and partners, Raewyn and Leo, Jude and Bob, Susan, Darren and Sue, Erin and JP. Proud Grandad to his ten grandchildren and their partners, and his eight great- grandchildren. John was a friend to many. Our grateful thanks go to the staff of Reeve House for their loving care. A private cremation has been held according to John's wishes. A celebration of his life will be held in the Magdalinos Room, Havelock North Function Centre, 30 Te Mata Road, Havelock North on Monday, 11 August at 10.30am. A graveside service and interment of John's ashes will take place in Ohakune on 4 October 2025 at 11.00am, where John will be laid to rest facing his beloved mountain.
