John GOODWIN Obituary

GOODWIN, John (Peter). Passed away peacefully on 15 March 2026 at Tauranga Hospital, in his 93 year. Beloved husband of the late Bernadette Goodwin (nee Slattery), and the late Barbara Goodwin (nee Fawcett- Winter) and loving father of John Peter Goodwin (stillborn). Loved brother to the late Maurice and late Ruth Goodwin, the late Greta and late Richard Hemmings, and Olave and the late Bill Beaumont. Dearly loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Peter is loved and remembered by his family and many friends for his kindness, patience and gentleness. Rest in Peace Peter. "The peace of God which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:7. A Requiem Mass will be said on Thursday 19 March 2026 at St Thomas More Catholic Church, Gloucester Road, Mt Maunganui, at 12.30PM. A private interment will take place the following day. In lieu of flowers, donations for Waipuna Hospice https:/ /waipunahospice.org.nz/ or may be left at the funeral Mass. Messages to the Goodwin family C/- PO Box 650, Tauranga 3144.

Farewell Uncle Peter
Thank you for being a gentle and kind Uncle to us throughout the years. We will always have fond memories of you and will miss you popping in to see us for a cup of tea at Papamoa during the summer break. God bless you and may you rest in peace

Uncle Peter,
Will be forever blessed to have called you my Uncle. You will be remembered for your kind nature & beautiful spirit.

Enjoyed sharing our loving of racing & our many chats about horses.

I have a horse running next week,so if you could give it a little help from above I would be blessed.

Rest in Peace Uncle Peter you do deserve it , but still sad to not have you in our lives.
