Most of my contact with John and Nancy was back in the 80's and 90's. I remember it like it was yesterday. John and Nancy were the parents you wanted to visit because they made you feel so welcome. John always had time to sit down and talk and share his views, and I remember him always smiling and laughing. So sad to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences go out to Nancy, Simon, Helen, Christina, Sarah, and Joseph.

We were deeply saddened to hear in the early hours of this morning, the death of our dear friend, John. Although it has been a while since we have last talked, nevertheless, we hold many fond memories. He was indeed very kind-hearted and wise, always giving thoughtful advice. His laughter and smile will always be with us. We know that this is a difficult time for you and your family. Words are inadequate at a time like this; however, please know that you and your family are in our thoughts, and may God give you strength to bear this loss with courage and fortitude.

Sending Nancy, Simon, Helen, Christina, Sarah, Joseph and all their beautiful families our most sincere condolences on John´s passing.
John was a larger than life figure in the glory days of our Northland Road childhood in the 70´s and 80´s.
My memories of him were always of him smiling and laughing, generous and interested in what us children were up to - often in his basement!
We often think of John at Christmas time, (fond recollections of Midnight Mass at the Rigi), and will again this year.
May the Angel´s lead him into paradise...
