From campaign photos for Whangarei MP, to babysitting Troy and Matthew, Sally & Dave's wedding, dinner parties .... his educational publications and community projects - a man who lived life fully. To all in his family, my warmest wishes and sympathy for your loss. It's always too soon. Remember the good stuff.

RIP John. A great man. My respects to his family.

John was always generous with his time and a great supporter of his children's friends. The silent dinner we both participated in at a school camp stays in my memory as one of the most hysterically funny times I ever experienced. He was larger than life and will be sorely missed.

A wonderful and engaging neighbour for over 20 years. Rest In Peace John.

John was always such a pleasant, engaging and interesting person to spend time with. He contributed so much to the local community.

A life well lived, a true gentleman. Rest in peace.

Even when you are expecting something it is so sad to say farewell to John.Always great company and for the best part of the last year have been part of the family getting locked down in Dingo Beach with Sally.A fascinating life that could be a best seller!
