We were gutted to hear of John's passing. He was a great guy, always willing to help and a friend to many. We've known John & Bill for many years, they would often pop in to see us and it was always a pleasure to see them.
Our Condolences to the Cartwright family.
Rest easy John.

I was told about John´s passing this morning and was shocked to hear he had been taken so soon. Fond memories from years ago when Bill and John´s yard was next to mine in Kingsland. I took over the yard they were on when they moved to Pt Chev. Lovely memories from what is some time ago looking back; although in some ways it seems like only yesterday. Condolences to Bill and the Cartwright family at this difficult time. JOHN PORTEOUS

When i met Johnny (AKA Shoulders). my life changed for the better.
Working with him was always full of surprises,
,but our love of common activities made us friends more than business associates,
Always up for an adventure in an unconventional manner, john was then , and always will be one of my favourite people.
I have had the privilege of his knowledge, guidance and LOYALTY in my younger years, and will never forget the impact this man had on my later successes in life.
i will see you again in another life my friend...

Dear Cartwright Family
How sad I was to hear this news
I´ve been interacting with John and Will for many years
Due to my job at VTNZ
We have shared many a joke and rude comment along with many many laughs
John will be missed along with his cherry greeting and smile " hi my dear "
All my love goes to Brooke, Tayla, Will, Lorraine and the rest of the family
RIP John

CARTWRIGHT, John Anthony. Aged 63. Passed away surrounded byloved ones on Sunady 11 June at Auckland City Hospital. Little John was like a younger brother to me. We grew up together. Our families were close and we continued this very close friendship like a true family all through our adult lives. Aside from a being a great dad to his beautiful girls Brooke and Tayla. His other great passion was boating and fishing and and as a life member of the Te Atatu boatclub, he will certainly be missed there. I will miss him and his sense of humour. Always ready for a laugh and to me he will always be little John. Rest in peace brother . Big brother John Eaton.
