To Debs and family,
So sad to hear that John has passed away.
Peter and I have many fond memories of our time with you both at the ANZ in those early dealing room days and also of our young families together.
Thinking of you all.
Warm regards
Karen, Peter, Jess, Becky and Henry Jones

John, I was shocked when I heard the news, 4th or 5th-hand, here in Aussie. I can't believe that a bloke like you with so much going for you, has gone.
Although we've only seen each other briefly in the last 20 years or so, it's always been on my 'to do list' to catch up with you for a few beers on a future trip back to NZ. Now we've been robbed of that chance.
I often think back & laugh about those great fun days of the early/mid 80's when we worked together at the Reserve Bank with Deano and the others, played rugby & touch at Te Atatu, and hung out with your Kelston mates.
I'm angry at myself for not doing more to stay in touch as distance, our careers, family and every other excuse got in the way.
Stunned & saddened though I am to hear that you're gone, I can only imagine the loss your family is feeling.
You were, and always will be, a great mate.

I am so saddened by the news- too young too early to leave. It was a great privilege to serve as part of your Private Banking team. John taught me so much about leadership and presentation. He was a strong, real and caring leader. He will be missed. My condolences go to Debs and all of the family.

Ralph Waldo Emerson What is success?
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child , a garden patch or a redeemed social condition ; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
JB you have left this world a better place and more than one life has breathed easier because you have lived. Words are not enough to express my thanks for all you have done. You led by example and your legacy lives on in so many ways. An honour to have known you and worked with you. My thoughts to Debs and the family and all those your life has touched who will miss your presence, your humour, your leadership and your humility.
