John BLYTH Obituary

BLYTH, John William (Bill). On Wednesday 29th May 2013, peacefully, at Middlemore Hospital, aged 83 years. Dearly loved husband of Dolores; father to Anita and Michael, John and Jane, and Pauline; brother to Roy and Betty, Anne and Colin; uncle to Julie and Matthew; grandfather to Chelsea, Georga, Bradley, Andrew, Danielle and Nathan. An intelligent and compassionate man who enriched all our lives. He will be sadly missed. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the All Saints Chapel, Purewa Cemetery, St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Tuesday 4th June at 1.30pm, followed by interment in the cemetery.

Bill, you were extended family to me: a big part of my life for the past forty years and a good friend to my parents and my grandmother. You always took an interest in what I was up to and I have many fond memories of your gruffly, affectionate presence and your wisdom and humour, as well as your warm embrace of my wife, Patricia. I'm the better for knowing you. Safe passage, mate. We'll miss you. Sending our love to all the Blyth family. From Andrew, Patricia, Allison and Felix.
