Annie, so sorry, cynthia and I send our deepest condolences to you and yours at this hour of the beginning of John's new life. John was almost like the big brother I never had, but with a much cooler accent. I'll never forget the incredible hospitality john and his illustrious family, and you, Annie, showered on me as a young yank hitching his way through your gorgeous country. My only regret is that due to time and distance and the march of life we weren't able to get together as we did on the white sands of mobile bay over 25 years ago. Nevertheless, our home is forever welcome to you and yours. The Lord will take care of his own, and John is surely God's own. I tried to contact John the past few years, and hope to see you again, Annie. Please pass on these condolences to Angus, Harriet and George...perhaps with Fred we can plan another reunion in Alabama, or new Zealand, even with some of our kids and grandkids...we have a George of our own now, Giorgio, a year young. God bless you and yours, Annie. With love, Joe passalino and family 847 652 8133

Dearest Annie and Family,
We are so shocked and saddened by the news of Johnny's passing. We can't quite believe it. He was such a lovely man and I know you will miss him so very much. I have fond memories from childhood growing up together with the Beattie cousins in Takapuna and was in Takapuna last weekend talking about Johnny to some friends of his who lived close by in Clifton Road.
We were so pleased he came to stay with us at Easter last year while he was working at the Hundertwasser Museum in Whangarei. We had such a nice time with him and a really good catch up.
Our hearts go out to all of the Beattie family at this sad time.
I know you will have a lot of support from friends and family so I'm sure you will take comfort from that.
With all our love,
Tim and Jo

I remember John with fondness. He was my manager when I was director at Hanmer clinic, Wellington. I still have the lovely reference he wrote for me. Condolences to family and friends. RIP John

Hi Anne,
David Macdonald here, our thoughts are with you at Johns passing. We last saw John at the Halberg Awards in Auckland 2017 accompanied by Harriet , delightful to meet her. Such a fun night and John in very good form. That naughty look he often had on his face.
Anne pleased to hear you have lots of family around, to celebrate with others.
Best Regards
Love
David Macdonald
