BAXTER, John McColl Te Wharematangi. Of Paekākāriki. Peacefully at Vincentian Home and Hospital, Berhampore on 3 April 2026. Aged 73 years. Loving father of Jessica; Grandfather to Hemi, Dre, and Hoani. Haere ra e Koro e. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vincentian Home and Hospital would be appreciated. A service to farewell John will be held at St Peter's Village Hall, Paekākāriki on 10 April 2026 at 11:00 AM, to be followed by burial at Whenua Tapu Cemetery.

RIP John. I first met John when I noticed him sitting at the Taxi Stand outside Coastlands and it was raining, and knowing that I had seen him numerous times around the village, I pulled up and offered him a ride. He said yes and that's where it all started when I got to know John.
