Robyn Munford here, I have such fond memories of John and all his work for children, young people and families in Aotearoa. I feel very sad about this news but I will carry with me the many conversations I had with John who was always so passionate about his work. Your legacy will live on.

We are sorry to learn of John's passing and our thoughts are with Sally, Jamie and Matt. We will remember John and miss him for his slightly dry laconic wit, intellectual rigour and broad view of the world and its frailties.

We offer condolences to the family of John Angus. John was a great help to us in our Maori child advocacy organisation. He was fit to be called a "humarie" man -a man who had dignity, generosity, self discipline and aroha, enabling others to work with him in his focus of keeping children at the centre of family, community and political life. He did a great job. Thank you. Nga manaakitanga ki a koe, e te rangatira humarie. Te Kahui Mana Ririki Trust.

Deep regret at Johns passing. Always a stalwart advocate for children's best interests and welfare. A role model for many working for a better deal for kids. Will be greatly missed. Barbara Lambourn

We are very sorry to hear of your loss and wanted to take this time to recognise John's contribution to protecting NZ children. In particular his commitment to ACART and the significant work he did around protecting children during very early development. Our patients and their children today have a great deal to thank him for.
He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
