We grieve with you Betty. I’m Dan Fadling, former Aloha Airlines pilot, and I have good memories of the many home stays you provided for me in the ‘90s.
You and Jack were always the most gracious of hosts, and I still tell stories of Jack leading to a rafting journey on a stormy day on the Tongariro River.
We pray for peace for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of dear Jacks passing and condolences to his lovely family. He was such a lovely man, a treasure, I loved chatting to him down by the river. He was a good listener and was always so kind and I loved hearing his stories and words of wisdom . He always talked about his love for Betty and how lucky he was to have her. Will miss him so much on my daily walk but I will stop a while on his bench.

Jack & Betty have been dear Turangi friends & neighbours for over 40 years,
Poto St will not be the same without him...will miss our chats, his sense of humour, his huge knowledge of Turangi happenings, & sitting with him on his "Courtney Place"Bench by the river after 4pm.....
He will be welcomed up there by many old mates & no doubt already found another bench----softer....
Our love & sympathy to Betty & Family
,from all our family, in Wellington,UK, & Sydney
