Dear Melva and family

It is with much sadness I write this message, hearing about Bill's passing. Such a lovely man, a true gentlemen - always willing to help and support people. The best thing I ever did was turn up with home made muffins for him the first day we started sharing an office - I had a friend for life! Bill taught me so much and would explain in detail how the UHT technology worked in our plant so I could set up projects. And Bill's wonderful excel skills, how many hours did he save me.
Bill was a wonderful ambassador for the Dairy industry and facilitating the exchange of so many young Dairy Technology students from his old Alma mata in Holland to our site at Takanini. You and Bill treated those young ones like your own Melva and gave them a home away from home and somewhere to go for a hot meal. So many have gone on to great careers.
I can still see his lovely smile in my mind and that is how I shall remember him. My heartfelt condolences to you all, we now live in New Plymouth so sadly I was not able to make his funeral. I shall pop around to see you once we are back living in Pukekohe after September Melva. Take care. Kind Regards Louise Le Fleming ex Fonterra Brands UHT
