Jocelyn BURTON Obituary

BURTON, Jocelyn McLeod (nee Armstrong). Passed away peacefully in her sleep, in her 100th year, at her home in Highlands Village, Pakuranga, Auckland on Friday 27th December 2024. Loved wife of the late Lindsey and treasured mother and mother In law of Brian and Jan and the late Peter and Mary. Much loved grandmother of Glenn and Clare, Matthew, Aaron, Mark and Emma, Christopher and Michelle and Loved great, great grandmother of Elliott, Oliver, Patrick and the late Harry, Cecilly and Mori. Jocelyn was the last of eight children of Jack and Alison Armstrong. Born in Opotiki on 2nd October 1925. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she adored, she was always happy, helpful and talkative. A beautiful lady now at rest, Jocelyn's presence will be deeply missed and her absence leaves a void that will never be filled. A service for Jocelyn will be held on Friday 3 January 2025 at the Pakuranga Chapel of Davis Funerals, 2a Udys Road, Pakuranga, at 1.30pm. This will be live streamed for those unable to attend the service. This will be followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers any donations may be forwarded to the Children's Starship Hospital.

Jocelyn and Lindsay were great friends of my parents, Ray and Marion Vanstone. We visited Jocelyn most Christmas´ since we moved to Pukekohe. Jeff and Jocelyn had wonderful conversations about the old days in Opotiki. Jocelyn was a delightful lady and will be much missed. RIP.
