Joan WOOLFORD Obituary

WOOLFORD, Joan Frances. Passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Wednesday 16 January, 2013 aged 96 years. Loving wife of the late Dick. Beloved mother to Alan (deceased) and Jill. Mother-in-law to John. Cherished Nana to Rochelle, Paul, Kimberley and Kimberley. Adored Nana Joan of Sophie and Cooper. Companion and friend of Della. "Mum you were a gracious and amazing Lady who made the sun and all of those around you shine. Now you are our shining star". A gathering to celebrate Joan's life will be held at the All Saints Chapel of Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Saturday January 19 at 10.30am.

Dear Jill,I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My memories of your mum are special and wonderful. So many weeks and holidays were spent with you and your mum when we were attending the National School of Ballet, and in the years to follow. Always kind thoughtful and generous, she treated me as a daughter,and always listened to our problems and growing pains with an open mind.Joan was special to me and will always remain a treasured memory from years now long gone.
