It is with deep sadness that we learned of Joan's passing and unfortuantely too late to attend her funeral and pay our respects. Sadly the travel grapevine did not work this time!

Joan was a respected friend and colleague of the Parliament Travel office and the wider environment and all those who worked with her for many years including at Air NZ. Each one of us were sorry not to have farewelled Joan and paid our respects.

How do we remember Joan? Very fondly, her immaculate dress sense. She was always beautifully groomed, she looked as if she'd walked straight from the shop window into work. She was loyal, dedicated extremely hard working and undoubtedely possessed a huge font of knowledge, expertise and experience at Parliament. She undertook the role of Manager during staff leave and was always so capable and thorough in all that she did.

Joan didn't grow up with technology but she readily grasped and embraced this like a teenager. She worked the airline systems like a dream. There were certainly no flies on Joan.

Joan adored her children and grand children, she was so proud of you all and your achievements and success in life. Particularly her loving and enduring partnership with Ray.

Farewell Joan, we will never forget you. You were a special and dear friend and colleague.

With much love
Roz Parry, Marie Wright, Alexis O'Connor, Rowena Sutton, Alison Jones, Jenny Tulloch, Jane Cresswell, Judy & Lew Campbell, the late Sharon Pender
