Joan LEAHY Obituary

LEAHY, Joan Teresa (Tessie). Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, 5 October 2025. Loved wife of Patrick for 69 years and 9 months. Loved mother and mother in law of Maurice, Edmond and Janet, Mary-Anne, and Eileen (deceased) and Greg Tollan. Loved nana to all her grandchildren and great Grandchildren Loved sister of James and Maura, Timmy Joe (deceased) and Hannah Mai, and Andy (deceased) and Margaret. Loved aunty to all her nieces and nephews in Ireland. A Rosary for Joan will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Whitaker St, Te Aroha on Thursday 9 October 2025 at 6pm. The service to celebrate Joan's life will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Whitaker St, Te Aroha on Friday, 10 October 2025 at 11am. Followed by burial in the Te Aroha cemetery. All communications to the Leahy family c/- 10 Short st, Matamata.The service will be live-streamed please refer to funeralhome.co.nz.

Tess Leahy carried her Irish heritage with quiet pride and deep kindness. A dignified lady, always gracious, always with time to talk. Her warmth and gentle spirit touched many, and she will be dearly missed.
