Joan HOOKER Obituary

HOOKER, Joan Hammerston Passed away peacefully on the 11th of January 2018 after a short illness at Golden Pond, Whakatane in her 94th year Loved Wife of the late Eric Ronald (Ron) Hooker, loved sister-in- law of Ilene and Norma, Loved Friend of the "Thursday Girls" Elaine, Charlene, Janet, Juliette, Rayma and Lyn, Loved friend to Myra and Mary of Auckland. Also loved Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, hospice and Golden Pond staff. A celebration for Joan's life will be held at 2pm on Monday the 15th of January 2018 at Gateway Funeral Services Chapel, 17 Awatapu Drive, Whakatane followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to EBOP Hospice. All communications via Gateway Funeral Services PO Box 2017, Whakatane.

A very special lady. I knew you for only a very small part of your long life but I will never forget your kindness generosity and the love you shared with your "kids". Your door was always open to all who called in to see you form a chat and the kettle was always hot. Will miss you dear friend especially on Thursday mornings.
