So very sad and shocked to hear of Jo´s passing. She was a force to reckon with, vibrant, passionate and she loved her daughters so.

So enormously sad to hear this news. Jo was one in a million and has left an important legacy both in her family and in New Zealand´s health system. We were so lucky to have her.

I was very saddened to hear that Jo had died. I have worked with her over a number of years while I was at North Shore Hospital. She was a passionate advocate for patients and such a pleasure to work with. She will be missed by many of us.

Richard, Georgia, Hannah and Jo's family
We are so deeply saddened to hear about the sudden loss of your beautiful Jo and mum. We all have such fond and funny memories. Jo was a straight shooter, so kind to her very core, a just keep it real attitude and we loved her potty mouth. She was always immaculately put together and never a hair out of place.
Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Keep on shining Jo, you'll be missed terribly

My dearest Jo
You have been apart of my life for 26 years and it was heart breaking when I got the message of your passing. I know you will be pissed you didn't get to see the girls marry have grandchildren and be even more a beacon in there lives . I'll miss our catchup chats and the hilarious Banta talking rubbish but know you will always be in my thoughts and your family will stand stronger because of you. Aroha nui my friend. X

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jo´s sudden passing. My deepest condolences to her family, friends, and work mates. I have fond memories of our intense discussions over the state of health in NZ, and reminiscing about our shared history as orthopaedic nurses. Jo´s passion and commitment will be sorely missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Jo´s death. Jo and I worked for Debbie together. Jo was such a hard worker and seemed to thrive on heavy workload and demands. Jo could get through a ton of demands. Jo´s younger than me, so my feelings of shock and disbelief is nothing compared to you and her family as people who are strongly connected and her intimate circle family and friends. She talked of her family at work. Please know that you have my deepest sympathies during this difficult time. Losing a loved one is never easy, but please take comfort in knowing that you are surrounded by people who care about you and want to support you. Warmest condolences from a past work colleague Trish Palmer

Jo was one of the most vibrant people I've ever worked with. She was warm, generous - and loud! - and while she most certainly didn't suffer fools, she was also patient with people who genuinely wanted to learn. I will always remember our late afternoon 'sessions', particularly during COVID-19, where we set the world to rights. You will be great missed Jo - rest in peace.

So very sad to hear of Jo´s sudden passing. We had such fun together way back - still have huge fond memories of singing and laughing all the way back from a Phil Collin´s concert to your flat in Ponsonby. Condolence's to your family xxx

Although I haven't seen Jo in over 3 decades, this news has shocked me to the core. I was privileged to be a staff nurse in Ward 8A when Jo was in charge. She ran a tight ship and shaped me into the nurse I am today. Jo made a deep impression on me about the ethics behind nursing. She demanded proficiency and respect and exuded professionalism and knowledge.
My sincere condolences to Richard, her girls and the rest of her family.
