Jill WOODWARD Obituary

WOODWARD, Jill Mary Strachan (nee Harris). Born January 19, 1939. Slipped away on October 26, 2021, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife and companion of Denis for 58 years. Adored mother of Clare, Juliet, Catherine, and Sarah. Loved mother-in-law of Matt, Dean, Tony, and Ben. Special grandmother of Sam, Ben and Emma; Lizzie, Kris and Rebecca; Josh and Lily; Ted, William and Isabel. Thank you to the nurses at Rawhiti and here caregivers through her illness. Jill was a wonderful musician and teacher. She was beautiful, kind, compassionate and loving. She was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.

Rest In Peace dear Jill, what a wonderful lady you were, and such a sweet friend to my dear mother, Annette. Perhaps you will be united and enjoying each other's company again! I have such fond memories of Jill, always so kind and a lovely gentle voice. I loved the neighbourhood concerts, sailing adventures and camping in the Bay of Islands,and at my wedding, so special! I feel so very lucky to have known you and treasure those memories forever! Recently it was so nice to see you and Den visit Mum when she became ill and then in hospice. Thoughts and love go out to dear Den, what a wonderful inspirational friendship you both had, remarkable! Love and thoughts to you all at this sad time.xxx

I was so sad to read of Jill's passing in the paper yesterday. I have known Jill since we were six years old when we started Sunday School together at St Aidan's.She was a lovely person and I will treasure the memories I have of her over 70+ years. My condolences go to Denis and all her family of whom she was so proud. Jill Bignell. (Glenie)
